Our Winter Monster - Dennis A. Mahoney

Characters are one-dimensional and the plot twists are telegraphed from the first few chapters, but the story otherwise is incredibly fun to read. There's a lot of focus and metaphors on working through trauma, which leads to a cliché ending. And despite these many flaws and gripes about the book that I've seen so many reviews on, I still had so much fun reading this book. Mahoney knows how to hook you on a story even if you don't want to be, very enjoyable!
