Wow. This book is an intertwining anthology of works including letters to a lover, songs written for voice and fife, nature walks of the mentally ill, and ghost stories of utter astonishment. I've never been so attached to a plot of land before in my life. A book written in a nearly 400 year time period to have the right pacing and not lay out what year we are in is fantastic.

What I really liked about this book is that our author did not tell me what happened. I was able to infer what era we have entered based on context clues and historical references. I was able to identify what the songs signified and who was in and around the air when things are revealed for our later tenants. I was able to use my brain when reading this book and I really appreciated it.
