October Reads
October means its time to ramp up the spooky reads. I just finished Child of God by Cormac McCarthy (not necessarily a spooky read but it was a horrifying story). Next up on the chopping block is Wife Shaped Bodies by Laura Cranehill. A story about Nicole, a girl locked away from the world with only her mothers teachings. She marries the man she was promised to at birth and then meets another wife. From here, things start to unfold as the truth comes out.
I also started reading Naruto with Dong. I really enjoyed the first book and I'm hoping that my library will have 2 and 3 in stock soon. I've also started book 4 of JuJutsu Kaisen and have 5, 6, and 7 ready on lock up next. It feels good getting back in to reading manga. My middle school self would be happy. Maybe I should read Ouran High School host club 🤪
I would also like to revisist some classics in my October horror fest. I bought Dracula and Frankenstein some time ago and will probably see if my friends would like to read them with me.
Oh.... And I'm still reading through Outlander. I'm a few hundred pages from the end so I will more than likely be done with it by the end of the month.
