This book was a slow descent into nothingness. It made me feel nothing more that I have in a while.
The narrator is a skinny, white WASP that is plagued with dead parents and a mind that has not a single positive thought. She's on a quest to sleep for an entire year- medically induced by a cocktail of drugs, given by a psychiatrist that maybe is not well adjusted herself. Her hope is to come out of the year an entirely different person. Someone who is not riddled with depression.
Our narrator is not a good person, not in the slightest. She detests her only friend and idolizes Whoopi Goldberg.
This novel was odd, but I fully understood where the narrator was coming from. I thought this book was a horror novel based on how terrifyingly accurate it felt to me.
This book was a solid 4/5 stars. I do recommend it.
