Boo! Booo! If I could throw tomatoes at a book and crown it for worst of the year, it would be this book. Which is such a shame because the first half of this book is EXACTLY what I wanted and hoped for and more. Tension up to the first ghostly encounter was chilling and exciting, and then the book gets lost in its own attempt at being complex and unique, that instead of focusing on the amazing atmosphere, haunted house, and paranormal entity; it switches to a whole new storyline focusing on researching a cult of scientists from the 70s and a god-like entity that lives at the center of a labyrinth underneath the house. Come on... It's like the back half of the book was written by a completely different author. I don't recommend.
